Most attendees were faculty and students from tier 2 and tier 3 colleges and universities, so sponsorship kept registration affordable.
ACM India COMPUTE
Since 2018, COMPUTE has been the flagship education symposium of ACM India, wholly devoted to computer science education. It draws about 150 participants each year, including academics, industry researchers, policymakers and research students. The 2020 and 2021 editions were online, 2022 was hybrid at Manipal University Jaipur, and 2023 was held in person at the University of Hyderabad.
COMPUTE 2024, the seventh edition, was organised under iSIGCSE (the India chapter of ACM SIGCSE) in cooperation with ACM and SIGCSE. Past highlights include sessions on ACM Computing Curricula 2020, AICTE’s SWAYAM initiative and India’s National Education Policy 2020, and keynotes by Sumit Gulwani, Pankaj Jalote, Sridhar Iyer, Alison Clear, Ricardo Caceffo, Anil Sahasrabuddhe and Samuel Mann. Since 2020 COMPUTE has hosted the winner of the ACM India Outstanding Contribution to Computing Education award as a keynote speaker.
