Infocus Interview with Aastha Patel EdTech and Learning Design Consultant

Aastha Patel is currently working as an edtech and learning design consultant. She has a background in electronics engineering from BITS Pilani, but her frustration with traditional learning methods nudged her to explore the education space. She started her journey in this field as an intern at the ET Department at IIT Bombay in 2018, where her research focused on scaffolding structured reflection for engineering design in middle school students. She pursued her master’s in Educational Technology and Applied Learning Science (METALS) from Carnegie Mellon University. Aastha has since gained diverse experiences across academia, government, and the private sector. Recently, she worked as a product manager for learning experiences at Rocket Learning and was involved in the DIKSHA project in Gujarat through the International Innovation Corps social innovation fellowship, as well as the EdTech Tulna project. She now takes on a variety of consulting projects and aims to start her own venture in the K-12 space.
