Three ways to take part

Participation was open to EdTech Society members only.

LearnerSchool or higher education teachers with no prior research experience in educational technology. Preference went to those who had identified a teaching–learning problem in their own setting, or carried out an EdTech-based intervention they wanted to document and share.
Research BuddyResearchers who have published in reputed, peer-reviewed conferences or journals in educational technology. Those with full or short papers at T4E, ICLS, CSCL, ICCE, Compute, LAK or conferences of similar standing were especially encouraged.
Learning Buddy (new)Past participants of DETR 2023 or DETR 2024 who hold a Certificate of Completion, or who presented a poster, workshop, tools demo, PRISm-track paper or best practice at T4E. DETR 2023 Certificates of Participation counted as completion; DETR 2024 participation-only holders were encouraged to rejoin as learners.
What was expected

Roles and responsibilities

  • Meet your assigned research buddy regularly online to discuss progress and get guidance.

  • Draft your paper, use your research buddy’s feedback, and prepare it for a peer-reviewed conference or journal.
  • Take part in the Discussion Forum: share insights, ask questions and support fellow learners.
  • Complete assignments on time: the idea proposal, the study plan and the final paper.
  • After the reviews arrive, prepare the camera-ready version with your research buddy.
