About The International Conference on Technology 4 Education (T4E)

The International Conference on Technology 4 Education (T4E 2024) is organized by the EdTech Society, India, and hosted by IIT Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India from December 6-8, 2024. The earlier T4E conferences were held in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kharagpur, Kollam, Warangal, Mumbai, Chennai, and Goa in the past 15 years. The proceedings of T4E 2024 will be published by Springer Lecture Notes in Educational Technology (LNET).

As per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 26), education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance, and friendship among diverse groups within humanity. Despite the growth of technology in education, the opportunities available for a majority of our citizens remain unchanged. At T4E, we seek to push the boundaries of how we conceive of innovations in education by asking how we can bridge educational differences among diverse groups and level the educational playing field using technologies, both big and small. We further encourage participants to think beyond traditional curricular goals in education and ask how technology can foster the development of well-rounded, democratically aware citizens who can observe, question and critique. In this spirit, T4E 2024 will provide a forum to bring together researchers, teachers, students, developers, entrepreneurs and practitioners who are widely interested in understanding ways in which learning and teaching can be enhanced with technology, as well as new roles for technology in educational processes. We invite submissions from participants in universities, colleges, schools, industry, government organizations and NGOs to share their work in this emerging interdisciplinary area.

About ACM-India COMPUTE

Since 2018, COMPUTE has been the flagship education symposium of ACM-India, wholly devoted to computer science education in the country and elsewhere. It has seen a consistent attendance each year of approximately 150 participants, including academicians, industry researchers, policymakers, and research students. The 2020 and 2021 editions were held online, but that did not diminish the conference participation. The 2022 edition was hybrid (at Manipal University Jaipur), and the 2023 edition at the University of Hyderabad was fully offline.

COMPUTE 2024 is the seventh edition of the series and is planned to be held from Dec 5 to 7, 2024, at IIT Gandhinagar. COMPUTE 2024 is being organized under the aegis of the iSIGCSE (India Chapter of Special Interest Group on CS Education) in cooperation with ACM and SIGCSE. It will be co-located with T4E 2024.

Some of the highlights of the past COMPUTE have been multiple sessions on ACM Computing Curricular 2020 (CC2020), a session on the SWAYAM initiative of AICTE, the CS Education Workshop by Educational Technology IITB, panel discussion on India’s National Education Policy 2020, the Teaching Video Challenge, a tutorial on teaching algorithms interactively, and keynotes by internationally acclaimed researchers such as Sumit Gulwani (Microsoft Research), Pankaj Jalote (IIIT Delhi), Sridhar Iyer (IIT Bombay), Alison Clear (EIT, New Zealand), Dr. Ricardo Caceffo (Univesp Brazil), Anil Sahasrabuddhe (All India Council for Technical Education), and Samuel Mann, to name a few. Since 2020, COMPUTE also has hosted the awardee of the ACM India Outstanding Contribution to Computing Education award as a keynote speaker.
