Masterclass #28: Learning Analytics in Technology-Enhanced Learning Environments: Automated Detection of Metacognitive Processes

Categories ,

Description

Brief Description

This talk explores how Educational Data Analytics (EDA) can enhance learning experiences in
Technology-Enhanced Learning Environments (TELE). By collecting and analyzing log data, we can gain
insights into essential learning processes such as planning, monitoring, reflection, and the use of
strategies, which are central to metacognition.
The discussion will also extend to AR/VR-based learning environments, where rich interaction data can be
captured to study learner behavior and engagement in immersive settings.
Such analysis enables identifying at-risk learners, developing learner profiles, and providing personalized
adaptive feedback. By leveraging these insights, we can create more effective and supportive learning
experiences, ensuring that students receive timely interventions tailored to their needs.

Date and Time: Saturday,March 8th, 2025, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (IST)

Pre- Requisite(s): None

Target Audience: Learning analytics/ Educational researchers, and Instructional Designers

Key Objective(s)

1. Leveraging Educational Data Analytics to Identify Key Learning Processes: This talk will demonstrate
how educational data analytics can be used to automatically detect metacognitive processes in
Technology-Enhanced Learning Environments (TELE).
2. Enhancing Learner Experiences Through Data: It will showcase how analyzed data can be practically
applied to improve learning experiences, such as developing learner profiles and providing personalized
and adaptive feedback.
