Brief Description
This talk focuses on addressing the challenges commonly associated with poorly designed cascaded Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programs, such as dilution of content, lack of trainers’ confidence, one-way transmission, and top-down design approaches. Participants will learn practical strategies to enhance the effectiveness of cascaded training models, including methods to preserve content integrity, build trainers’ confidence, foster interactive feedback loops, and adopt inclusive and participatory design principles. Through these approaches, teacher trainers, TPD program designers will be better equipped to implement impactful and sustainable cascaded training programs that ensure knowledge and skills are effectively transferred to all levels.

Brief Bio
Dr. Lucian Ngeze is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Dodoma, Tanzania. He has more than 10 years of experience in teacher professional development and training design. Dr. Ngeze has worked extensively with teachers to design and implement impactful face-to-face and online training programs. His expertise lies in designing cascaded teacher training models, integrating educational technology into classrooms, and developing online courses tailored to the needs of 21st-century educators. Since 2011, he has empowered school teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively integrate ICT tools into their teaching, enhancing their instructional practices and student engagement. Dr. Ngeze holds a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where his research focused on creating effective cascaded training models for ICT integration in Tanzanian schools. He has developed four online courses on 21st teaching and learning practices, benefitting over 1,500 teachers across
