Sridhar Iyer has been a faculty member at IIT Bombay since 1999.
Sridhar Iyer has been a faculty member at IIT Bombay since 1999. Currently he is a Professor in the Educational Technology Programme, while earlier he was with the Dept of Computer Science & Engg.
He is currently the Head of the Educational Technology Programme, also the Head of the Centre for Distance Engineering Education, and the Principal Investigator of NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), at IIT Bombay.
His current research interests in Educational Technology includes: Technology enhanced learning of thinking skills, Teacher use of educational technologies, Computer science education research, and emerging technologies in education. Prior to Educational Technology, he has worked in wireless networking protocols and mobile applications.
Some development projects that that he has conceptualized and led are: Project OSCAR, a repository of ~450 Interactive Visualizations for topics at the school and higher education levels, and Computer Masti, a series of books for teaching-learning of Computers in schools. These products have seen more than 100K downloads from 120 countries. In 2016, Computer Masti was acquired by a company and the books are now being used in ~1000 schools in India.
Sridhar Iyer received the ACM India Outstanding Contrubution to Computing Education Award in 2020, the AECT International Contribution Award in 2019, and Excellence in Teaching Award at IIT Bombay in 2016 and 2013.

Sahana Murthy
Sahana Murthy is a faculty member in the Educational Technology interdisciplinary program at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay since 2009. Her research interest is in Technology enhanced learning of disciplinary practices: developing students’ problem-solving, design thinking and inquiry practices in STEM domains via interactive technology enhanced learning environments. Another focus area is Teacher use of educational technologies, which has led to the design of models for large-scale professional development. She has conducted several teacher professional development programs on research-based teaching strategies and effective integration of ICT. Before joining IIT Bombay, she was a post-doctoral researcher in Physics Education Research at Rutgers University and MIT, USA. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mumbai, Master’s degree in physics from IIT Bombay, and PhD in physics from Rutgers University.

Shitanshu Mishra
Shitanshu is a learning and educational technology scientist with over ten years of experience.
Shitanshu is a learning and educational technology scientist with over ten years of experience. He is currently working with UNESCO’s category-1 educational research institute, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP), in New Delhi. At UNESCO, he handles EdTech research and development as a National ICT Specialist and Information Technology Officer. His research at UNESCO encompasses developing and evaluating an artificial intelligence (AI) based online learning platform to help learners improve their social-emotional skills. He is also leading the project on ethics in AI-in-Education (AIED). Additionally, he is studying the effects of social and emotional learning on individuals’ learning processes of topics such as “Climate Change” and “Global Citizenship.” After completing his Ph.D. from the Educational Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Mumbai, He worked with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vanderbilt University, as a postdoctoral research fellow for two years. After that, he worked with the EdTech research group at IIT Bombay as a research scientist for one year before joining UNESCO. His research interests lie in computing education research, authentic learning, scientific temper, the development of technology-enhanced learning environments, Artificial Intelligence in Education, and Multimodal Learning Analytics.

Ramkumar Rajendran
Ramkumar Rajendran is an Assistant Professor in Inter-Disciplinary Programme in Educational Technology at IITB.
Ramkumar Rajendran is an Assistant Professor in Inter-Disciplinary Programme in Educational Technology at IITB. Prior to this, he worked as a research scholar at Vanderbilt University USA and also worked as an Assistant Manager at NEC Central Research Laboratory in Japan. His research interest includes Learning Analytics, Affective Computing, Educational Data Mining, Intelligent Learning environments, Self-regulated learning, MOOC Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing, and Deep Learning. Ramkumar received Ph.D. from IITB-Monash Research Academy, IITB, India, and Monash University, Melbourne. He served as a Program Chair and Track Chair for International Conferences like IEEE T4E, ICALT, and ICCE. He is currently the chair of SIG in LA&EDM at the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education (APSCE).

Briju Thankachan
Dr. Briju Thankachan is currently serving as the Executive Director of EdTech Society and a Visiting Scientist at the Interdisciplinary Programme in Educational Technology (IDP-ET) in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, India
Dr. Briju Thankachan is currently serving as the Executive Director of EdTech Society and a Visiting Scientist at the Interdisciplinary Programme in Educational Technology (IDP-ET) in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, India. Previously, Dr. Thankachan served as the Director of Curriculum and Assessment Design and Improvement at the Ohio University USA. Dr. Thankachan developed the Instructional Decisions Model (IDM), to help educators make better decisions in the learning design process. As a certified Quality Matters peer reviewer, Dr. Thankachan designed online and hybrid courses for the School of Nursing at Ohio University. In addition, he advises G.S. Gawande College in Umarkhed, India with their technology integration needs and is the founding director of Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at GSG. As an adjunct professor, he taught Advanced Instructional Design and Technology Application in Education at the Ohio University, Patton College of Education. In 2018, Dr. Thankachan served as the president of the International Division of Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and is a certified trainer in Team-Based Learning (TBL). Dr. Thankachan also completed the “Higher Education Teaching Certificate” from Harvard University’s Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning in November 2019.

Jayakrishnan
Dr. Jayakrishnan is a researcher with a keen interest in projects related to the use of Information and Communication Technologies for Development of Education (ICT4DE).
During his doctoral study, he was focusing on improving In-Service Teacher Training programs within the Higher Education sector in India. Now as an independent researcher and practitioner, he is looking at how to improve the design and delivery of Online programs (Massive Open Online Courses, Small Private Online Courses, etc.) along with supporting Educational Design Research on teacher use of Learning Analytics.

Yogendra Pal
Dr. Pal earned his Masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2009 and started his career as project engineer in C-DAC Mumbai. At the same time, he started producing videos to teach programming to Hindi medium learners. These videos are available on YouTube channel named “LearnByWatch”. His interest in use of ICT in education brought him to the Ph.D. course in Educational Technology at IIT Bombay. He completed Ph.D. in Educational Technology in 2016 and the result of the Ph.D. is “a framework for scaffolding to teach programming to vernacular medium students”. After Ph.D., he started another YouTube channel named ETmantra to provide training and support teachers in educational content development. In 2017, he joined CSE department of IIT Bombay as a project research scientist. Dr Pal was managing the frontend for IITBombayX, a MOOC platform of IIT Bombay.

Kapil B. Kadam
Kapil Kadam is Senior Manager, Learning and Outcomes at Sunstone, one of India’s leading higher education service providers.
Prior to this, he worked as an EdTech specialist at International Rice Research Institute, India, and Research Scientist at the Computer Science Department, IIT Bombay. He has 12+ years of experience, including in industry, research, consultancy, teaching, and freelancing.
Kapil received Ph.D. in Educational Technology from IIT Bombay; B.E. and M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from Shivaji University, India.
His research and practice interests include: Educational Technology, Computer Science Education, Teacher Training, Technology Enabled Learning of Thinking Skills, Engineering Drawing, Augmented Reality, and Development of Spatial Skills.
He is also a Blender enthusiast and has conducted several Blender training workshops for students and teachers, benefiting 1700+ students across India. These workshops focus on 3D modeling, 3D animation, and 3D visualization basics.

Sameer Sahasrabudhe
Sameer Sahasrabudhe is the Director, Educational Multimedia Research Center (EMMRC), Pune, India. Prior to this, as a Research Scientist at IITBombay, he has contributed in the development of the Learner – Centric MOOC (LCM) model and the MOOCs platform: IITBombayX. He has created many learner-centric MOOCs for platforms such as: IITBombayX, edX, and SWAYAM. His course on 3D visualization and animation is subscribed by over 25000 learners across the world. It was shortlisted for the edX prize 2019. Sameer holds a PhD in Subject Communication; Post graduate Diplomas in Distance Education and Animation Film Making; and a Graduation in Fine Arts.
